Belief vs. Faith

For a long time, I couldn't believe I'd ever truly be one of the greats. Of course,
I fantasized about it. But this voice of doubt always nagged at me saying I would
never be good enough.
I can't drop a book.
I can't have people read my work.
I can't be a good writer.
A whole bunch of "I can't" statements. But one day, I had to just get up and believe.
But in all honesty, it wasn't just a sudden epiphany. I had to work through my belief to
turn it into faith. I was recently watching the tv show, Foundation, and this very
conversation came up. Belief is seeing something with your own eyes and knowing it
is possible. Faith on the other is never seeing it but having the utmost confidence in
it's creation and possibility.
When it comes to my writing, I need to move past belief and have faith. Faith that it
can work. Faith that I can publish a book. Faith that I can be so much more. Faith that
I can be one of the greats. And to be honest, while I'm not a 100% yet, I'm getting
there. But hey, what's a little faith without a little doubt. It might just make my faith a
little stronger.
